gNewBook is a social network based on a web platform named ELGG which offers distinct functionality, and which has been added to by the gNewBook development team. The principle difference between gNewBook and other social networks that use free software as their platform, is that the users themselves define the terms of use and privacy policies of the site, and therefore, of their information. gNewBook History

gNewBook was originally a project of Fundación GNUCHILE, destined to become a means to share and communicate among the different Free Software activists and communities of Chile. Nevertheless, thanks to the success and constant participation of users of other countries which caused the project to take on an international character, gNewBook was relaunched as an independent domain, being presently supported by volunteers of different regions and different organizations, generating in this way an open format for participation and administration. Useful Functionalities of gNewBook

gNewBook Integration (Identi.ca, Twitter, Facebook)

gNewBook natively supports integration with Identi.ca, automatically publishing your microblog messages to your Identi.ca account. Presently the recommended form to integrate services is to configure your Identi.ca account on gNewBook, and then integrate that with your Twitter account, which in turn can be configured with your Facebook account. This way when you publish something on your gNewBook microblog, the platform will also publish on Identi.ca, Twitter, and Facebook. In any case, we remind you that using the services of third parties involves acceptance of their terms of use and privacy policies. (Top)

Participate in gNewBook Development
